A PERSONAL REFLECTION: Don’t Cry for Me, but Cry for What We Become Without Humanity.

“I never imagined that I would have to defend my own dignity in this way, after an experience that left me humiliated and without a meaningful response from those who had a responsibility to acknowledge what happened.
I was told by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines that my experience would be treated as a matter of “internal awareness.” I find this deeply troubling. Awareness without acknowledgment is not accountability. Learning without response is not justice. When a person reports humiliation and harm, the answer cannot remain hidden inside an institution.”
Our Executive Director, Dr. Christian Ntizimira, shared this powerful reflection after an experience that challenged the very principle he has dedicated his life to defending: dignity.
